A to Z 2007 Pinot Noir Oregon

a_to_z_pinot_noir_07.jpg

From the largest producer in the state, the A to Z 2007 Oregon Pinot Noir offers a decent price point at $18 for an entry-level Oregon wine.

The A to Z pinot (13.5%) was a light to medium ruby red in the glass, with slightly sour strawberry notes and muted fruit flavors leading to modest acidity making it a bit flat on the finish. We paired it with Spaghetti Ala Matriciana, a delicious pasta dish Kari crafts on frequent occasions, which was that much better with this Oregon pinot noir.

Even at its low price, the A to Z came up short relative to other '07s tried to date. Even still, I will definitely give this wine another try in 6 to 12 months to see how it's evolving. At $18, why not?
