King Estate 2007 Oregon Pinot Noir

The King Estate 2007 Oregon Pinot Noir Signature Collection (13%) was a clear, ruby red in the glass, offering notes of dusty earth, slightly sour strawberry fruit, and hints of herbs. On the palate, this pinot delivered flavors of strawberry and cherry fruit with an earthiness that was pleasing along with its food-friendly acidity.
All of this led to a nice, long finish, making it a delicious accompaniment to our Korean bbq hangar steak, sliced into strips and then placed into lettuce leaves along with chopped green onions, toasted sesame seeds, cilantro, rice and julienned carrots.
At $27, the King Estate pinot noir offers a decent quality-price ratio. In fact, I could probably find this wine at a more inexpensive price shopping around. Regardless, it's one I intend to buy more of and enjoy again with dinner in the coming months.

Couldn't agree more with this assessment.
King Estate 07 is now our "go-to" pinot noir; it's the first Oregon pinot we ever tried (we live in Napa) and it's the one we always try to keep a bottle of on standby. We've had a lot of great Oregon pinots, but for price vs. performance, the King Estate might be the winner.

I fell in love with King Estate 5 years ago while on vacation at Sunriver. Living on the east coast it was in short supply except for online orders. Having just returned from a trip to Portland I am now well supplied with the 2008 Signature and 2007 Domaine and can't wait for their arrival. Thanks King Estate for making perhaps one of the best pinots available.
