Belle Pente 2007 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills

The Belle Pente 2007 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills (12.9%) is hands down one of my top five favorite Oregon pinot noirs from the 2007 vintage. I picked up a bottle of the Belle Ponte Dundee Hills back in July for $22, a bargain price considering how delicious this wine is now and how wonderful it will most likely be after more time in the bottle.
In the glass, the Belle Pente was a clear ruby red delivering an earthy funk at first that blew off in due course to reveal strawberry fruit and floral perfume. In the mouth, this is a terrifically well structured and balanced wine - wonderful red berry fruit, great acidity, and an amazing finish.
We paired the Belle Pente 2007 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills with a delicious beef tenderloin seasoned with salt and pepper and grilled medium rare. Alongside, were grilled red peppers and onions as well as wild rice. This wine went so well with the earthiness of the beef and wild rice - a terrific accompaniment.
This is a wine I am eager to stock up on, enough to enjoy a few more bottles in the coming months while saving even more to age over the next 5 to 7 years.
