Plain and simple, the Brick House 2007 Cuvée du Tonnelier Pinot Noir Ribbon Ridge (13.4%) is a terrific wine. In the glass, this Oregon pinot noir was a light, cloudy ruby red offering spice, then strawberry and raspberry, followed by wet earth on the nose.

In the mouth, the Brick House Cuvée du Tonnelier delivered terrific red berry fruit flavors, great acidity, and a long delicious finish. A myriad of flavors continued to be discovered as this wonderful wine evolved in the glass. We paired it with two hearty soups, a white bean chicken and a black bean chili. This wine accentuated and complimented the flavors well.

At $41, this is one of a few $35 plus Oregon pinot noirs from the 2007 vintage that I would recommend stocking up on now. I can only imagine how delightful this wine will be in a few years. Then again, this is a wine that is certainly drinkable now, which makes "delayed gratification" that much harder.

Having enjoyed a number of Brick House wines lately, I wish their web site were more up-to-date as it offers little on vintages since 2000 for pinot, 2001 for chardonnay, and 2002 for their gamay. Although there's plenty of background info available, I am eager to learn more about current and previous releases of Brick House wines. Hope this gets refreshed soon.
