Vin du Lac 2008 "Les Amis" Riesling Lake Chelan
In the glass, the Vin du Lac "Les Amis" Riesling Lake Chelan (13%) was a clear, greenish yellow straw color evoking notes of fresh, bright tropical pineapple with hints of orange zest. This 75% riesling, 18% muscat, and 7% gewurtz blend delivered a clean, crisp mouthfeel with nice fruit, well balanced acidity against the slight residual sugar.
I really liked this Lake Chelan wine, which I purchased at the winery for $14. It went very well with our spicy Thai food dinner as well as on its own as well. The folks at Vin du Lac suggest it might be a sacrilege for blending riesling, but in this case the "Les Amis" is a wine that warrants a reprieve.
I would definitely buy another bottle or more of this delicious, fun wine.

Nice review! I'm more a fan of dry Rieslings (or late harvest dessert wines) - but I'm extremely interested in exploring the wines from Lake Chelan. I'll have to keep an eye out for them next time I'm in my local wine shop!

Hey Tamara, this is but one of several Lake Chelan wines that I have recently enjoyed. Please come back and share your experiences if you are able to try any of these in the months ahead.
